Conceptual Design

As a student in the Ontario College of Art & Design, I've explored this logical side of my creativity. The following are some of design projects. If you have any questions regarding my work (including possible contract work), feel free to contact me.

Proposed in this thesis is a new idea, globalization of the individual; a change in the way the individual sees themselves as part of the whole. To accomplish this, the Canadian Centre for Youth Abroad (CCYA) would educate and connect youth (from both Canada and overseas) by encouraging them to work/volenteer in countries abroad. By working overseas, it submerses the individual into that culture (rather than passive observer or tourist).

The Canadian Centre for Youth Abroad won an Honourable Mention at the 2005 ARIDO Student Awards.

K'un Ken Urban Oasis - Residential Project

In-Fill Residence: Located on a 45’ x 48’ back-alley-lot, the lofted work-live apartment required the renovation of a small two-storey building downtown. The final presentation included complete plans, sections, elevations, a plastic model, and a complete 3D computer walk-through.

Backpackers Hostel - Hospitality Project

Backpackers Hostel: From concept sketches to drafted plans, the project saw the complete renovation of this downtown five-storey building to cater to its international clients.

Writing Desk (Hand-Made)

Writing Desk: This is a full size writing desk for a single user, that I designed and built. The legs are welded steel and the top surface is Baltic Birch.

Fathom Five - Habitat Project

Habitat: This small cottage is designed to accommodate one person over the period of one-year in Northern Ontario climate.
