ONE IS THE POINT

Five is her hand pushing the chills along his spine
Six the way light explores the valleys and hills
of her flesh. Her body lies as an echo of his
Seven is the way that his heart beats with the anticipation
of a lover and the timidness of a child
Eight is the space that dances between them,
heat like waves washing over them,
and drops like the rain returning the water to the sea.
Nine is the look in the eyes of each other,
when words fall short of the height of their love.
Ten is the care of time that has carried them
to this point, where the line has been
washed away and two become one.
